West Coast and California Logistics Blog

Do we need another logistics blog?

Tue, Sep 25, 2012 @ 10:24 AM / by Weber Logistics

Another logistics blog site?   Don’t the various logistics publications and supply chain services providers – on their websites and blog sites – do a good enough job of commenting on industry issues and facilitating discussion?

Maybe so – if the subject matter involves general logistics issues.

But with our new California Logistics Blog, Weber Logistics saw a need to discuss issues that were unique to West Coast logistics, such as managing the huge volume of imports arriving from Asia, dealing with environmental and other regulatory issues in California, and understanding port-related issues.

In these areas, Weber has a unique and valuable perspective to share.   Our strength is our focus – namely, flexible and scalable distribution solutions in California and the Western U.S.    Few, if any, 3PLs can match our history, market knowledge and logistics infrastructure in this region.  So we wanted to share some of this knowledge and perspective with companies that have West Coast logistics operations.  Our objective at the end: achieve improved operational value.

Our new California logistics blog site won’t deal ONLY with logistics issues in California and the West Coast.   But the focus will be on the things that have been our passion and our livelihood for 88 years – warehousing, freight transportation, and port services in California and the western U.S.

We look forward to an active discussion on these issues.
