SUSTAINABILITY

You’re under pressure to reduce your carbon footprint – and you need your 3PL partners to be part of that effort.   At Weber, we’re serious about our commitment to green logistics practices.

  • SmartWay_Transportation_Partnership_LogoWe were one of the first members of the EPA SmartWay℠ emissions reductions program.  Since joining, our fleet has maintained the highest EPA rating available.

  • Our warehouses operate with 100% emission-free electric vehicles.

  • Weber’s drayage solution uses only clean-certified trucks at the ports and rail yards.

  • Innovative lighting solutions in Weber warehouses have reduced electrical consumption. We use a combination of natural lighting, via new skylights, and have replaced old fixtures and bulbs with new T5 and T8 lighting. As a result, we have reduced the electrical usage in our facilities by up to 30%, cutting costs for clients and reducing our carbon footprint.

Weber has purchased machinery that recycles dunnage into packing material to be used as protective filler during shipping, greatly reducing the use of plastic filler.

  • To reduce empty miles, we continuously optimize last mile logistics and use partner carriers in some areas to reduce travel.

  • Weber recently received the Switch Sustainability Certificate, confirming that our data servers are powered by renewable energy (solar/wind) from Switch - the only data center in the world to receive all “A” ratings from GreenPeace.

Continued Commitment to Green Logistics

Weber is extending its commitment to green logistics to its suppliers.   Scope 3 emissions are those caused by vendors who supply goods and services to a company.  To reduce Scope 3 emissions, all Weber vendors must be able to pass a test to ensure they are contributing to logistics sustainability goals.
