Happening Now: Truckers Applaud FMC Container Fee Rule

The Federal Maritime Commission's (FMC) new ruling on detention and demurrage (D&D) charges, effective May 28, is welcomed by the trucking industry, particularly for those involved in international container transport. Previously, truckers had been burdened with D&D fees levied by ocean carriers for delays at ports and inland rail facilities, awaiting reimbursement from shippers.
